Energy

Cooling housings and structural components for power electronics and energy-related products — a segment growing fast with us.

Close-up of a finned aluminium housing for power electronics.

The challenge

Power electronics keep getting denser and hotter. Cooling has to be built into the casting itself, while the housing must stay tight, be sound from an EMC perspective, and remain manufacturable at volume for a sensible cost.

What we do

Die casting is the right method when fin geometry, cooling channels and mounting points all belong in the same part. We design for castability together with you, then machine the faces that need flat, tight interfaces.

Requirements we meet

  • Thin, dense fins with high thermal performance
  • Flat sealing faces for gaskets and EMC strips
  • Dimensional accuracy on mounts and interfaces
  • Volume capacity as the programmes scale up
  • Recycled alloy with a low climate footprint

Typical parts

  • Finned electronics housings
  • Inverter enclosures
  • Load-bearing frames
  • Connection details
